The Andaz, Singapore - a concept by Hyatt

A glittery gem of a property in the heart of the City

There’s really no shortage of luxury hotels in Singapore. It’s quite hard to even think of a city where there are more exacting standards of service at every hotel property you encounter. So when the Hyatt group decided to open an Andaz concept hotel in this luxury-saturated city, I was left scratching my head, wondering what a new hotel could add to the mix. It turns out, a lot. Whilst my own apartment in Singapore is in Sentosa, I still felt very much ‘at home’ at The Andaz.

It is nestled in an enviable location beside the opulent Parkview Square, home to the famous Atlas Bar - one I regard as one of the best bars I’ve ever been to. For the non-alcoholics, you’re in walking distance to Haji Lane and Arab Street, home to my favourite Pandan Swiss roll bakery, and walls of street art.

The first thing you will notice as you step into the Andaz King Room is the bathroom which is sleek, spotless and masculine (in the best way). Incorporating plenty of marble and woody tones, the bathroom is quite possibly one of the most sparkly bathrooms I’ve ever had the pleasure of being in. With a pretty spectacular view of the city from the bath (and toilet!), my morning ritual for my three-day stay started with a mug of Nespresso, in the bath, with THAT view.

It is also connected to a walk-in wardrobe in the event that you need to partition the bathroom off from the rest of the room. Convenient for those staying with other family members and want some privacy - which I was!

With chic amenities, snazzy motorized blinds and a fully-stocked mini bar, my stay at the Andaz was nothing short of a true five star experience.

Perfect for serious swimmers who want to get some laps in before breakfast, or for those on the hunt for the perfect bikini shot with a stellar backdrop.

One thing was certain when reluctantly driving away from the hotel in our Uber to the airport. Three nights at the Andaz was truly not enough.
